Roaring 20’s, Great Gatsby Themes are Very Popular for Themed Events in Los Angeles

Our roaring 20s Speakeasy band will give your event the style of entertainment from the era of beautiful fashions, elegant celebrities, Flappers, gangsters and hot jazz.

Tunes from the trumpet and cornets of Louis Armstrong king Oliver and Bix Biederbeck are part of the bands instrumental repertoire added to list are songs from the classic jazz singers of the 20s, Ma Rainey, and Bessie Smith and Maimy Smith in the blues and vaudeville styles.

The song The Charleston was popularized by the 1922 musical Running Wild and the dance was first introduced in Irving C Miller's Broadway show Liza in 1923. The black bottom was featured in the Harlem in 1924 and then performed in the musical comedy review George White scandals of 1926 on Broadway, after which it became a national craze, the black bottom overtook the Charleston in popularity, and eventually became the number one social dance.

The band was created after the popularization of the great Gatsby movie. That movie spurred a lot of great Gatsby parties that featured the music of the 1920s vintage, jazz and because we had already been doing many Old Hollywood Vintage Jazz songs from the 20’s through the 40's we found it very easy to expand our repertoire and transformed the band into a 1920s roaring 20s speakeasy band.

While the great Gatsby theme is still very popular in events in Los Angeles we have found that since the start of 2020 there has been a huge shift to many request for our bands to do roaring 20s theme casino nights. The band features, the beautiful and talented Danielle crook as our vocalist. She dresses in the typical flapper dress with headbands, white gloves, and she said very fun entertainer to watch. The rest of the jazz band backs her up with Grammy winner Rick Rossi on saxophones and clarinet, Chris Potter on piano and Beni Rossman on stand-up bass.
